Job Summary
RN Charge Nurse provides leadership and clinical expertise on their shift and department. They coordinate unit resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on patients’ needs, act as a role model of competency and professionalism, and direct the interdisciplinary care team by delegation and collaboration. Night shift responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and updating individualized plans of care with input from patients, families, and the care team, and ensuring staff accountability for safety and quality while supporting continuous improvement in care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Unit Specific Certification as required (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified)
- Experience in assigned clinical area
- Mentoring experience
- Registered Nurses (RNs) hired or promoted into this role must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of the hire or promotion date
