Job Summary
Deliver individualized nursing care to inmate patients in a correctional healthcare setting, performing nursing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely and appropriate care; administer medications and treatments; monitor responses and provide patient education; maintain documentation and adhere to infection control, HIPAA/PREA, safety policies, and quality-improvement initiatives; requires BLS/CPR certification, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays, and security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment
- Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience in a correctional healthcare environment preferred
- Excellent critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Assertive, empathetic, and able to provide objective patient care
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to earn the respect and confidence of inmates and staff
- Maintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
- Ability to pass all required health and security screenings
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- On-call availability may be required
- Represent CFG Health Systems, LLC positively and professionally
- Adhere to infection control policies and medication administration protocols
- Follow OSHA and facility safety policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
- Complete facility-required orientation and training
- Uphold HIPAA and PREA regulations
- Punctual and reliable for assigned/confirmed shifts
- Maintain required security clearance for the assigned facility

- Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed
- Monitor and report reactions to treatments, medications, and changes in physical or emotional status
- Provide patient education, including medication guidance, self-care instructions, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation
- Promote a therapeutic and professional environment for inmates
- Adhere to infection control policies and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in ongoing staff development, training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
