Job Summary
Deliver direct nursing care to inmate patients in a correctional facility, performing assessments and providing treatments, medications, and discharge planning as prescribed. Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, appropriate, and continuous care while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to infection control policies, HIPAA, and PREA regulations. May involve night shifts, weekends, and holidays with potential on-call. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and an active RN license in the state of employment; ongoing staff development and quality improvement participation are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment
- Minimum Work Experience: Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience in a correctional healthcare environment preferred
- Maintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
