Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, synthesize patient data, and develop individualized care plans with measurable goals. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders while verifying medical accuracy. Coordinate and delegate care to LPNs and CNAs based on staff competency and care complexity. Evaluate patient outcomes, adjust care plans to minimize re-hospitalizations, and facilitate discharge planning through interdisciplinary meetings. Communicate patient information across shifts and collaborate with physicians and other departments. Maintain strict confidentiality of Protected Health Information, participate in mandated in-service programs, and assist with staff orientation. Perform drug counts and use Point Click Care (PCC) systems according to business processes. Work beyond scheduled shifts as needed to meet staffing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing
- Current physical assessment skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles
- Ability to recognize and identify symptoms
- Ability to manage emergency situations
- Knowledge of medications, their proper dosage, and expected results
- Ability to coordinate, delegate and supervise nursing functions
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to make decisions as necessary
- Ability to create a patient-centered environment
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of computer use
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
