Job Summary
Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care rendered while applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions. Coordinate patient care activities based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning, directing and delegating appropriately to the health care team. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, significant others, and team members regarding the patient's plan of care. This role requires on-call availability but does not mandate working the fourth shift per month. Candidates must hold a BSN or be enrolled in an accredited program with an RN license in NYS, plus BLS and ACLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in Med Surg, Labor and Delivery including circulating RN experience
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- NYS Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Desired Qualifications
- Passion for the Labor and Delivery Unit
- Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in an accredited BSN program
