Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Cath Lab using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, along with prolonged standing, walking, and bending to assist with patient positioning. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and ACLS certification as needed. Full-time, 40-hour day shift with additional call hours for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Ability to meet unit specific physical demands
- Ability to perform significant amount of bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pinch up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Ability to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends
