Job Summary

Perform all duties of the CV Invasive Specialist I, including scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring diagnostic, interventional, and CRM procedures. Participate in procedure room preparation, post-procedure turnaround, and point-of-care testing while developing expertise in invasive supplies and hemodynamic recording calculations. Provide patient education, emotional support, and thorough documentation of each procedure and associated events. Take immediate action during patient status changes and apply closure devices or remove sheaths to obtain hemostasis. Work Mon-Fri from 0730-1600 at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado. Requires RCIS or RCES registration, BLS/PALS/ACLS certification, and specific imaging equipment operation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • PALS certification for children's hospitals or ACLS certification for adults
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) registration
  • ARRT-CI or ARRT-VI certification
  • RN (Registered Nurse) status
  • Previous relevant RN experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in performing complex diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures
  • Demonstrated understanding and proficiency in correlation with years of experience with regards to electrophysiology procedures
  • At least 12 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credits per year
  • Clinical competence of CVIS/CVES skills evidenced by skills sign off
  • Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements
  • Fluoroscopy Operator Certification as required in the state of Colorado
  • Bachelor's degree in health science program
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Respiratory Therapy program
  • One year of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or Electrophysiology experience
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health science program
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Respiratory Therapy program
  • One year of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or Electrophysiology experience (not including academic training or CVIS training)
