Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Cath EP in the Electrophysiology lab providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, developing and revising individualized care plans, implementing interventions per the plan of care, coordinating with providers and interdisciplinary teams, delivering patient and family education, and ensuring safe, evidence-based practice. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 0645–1715, with four 10-hour shifts and no on-call requirements. Requires nursing licensure (RN) in Nebraska or compact state, BSN or MSN preferred (ADN with plan to obtain BSN/MSN acceptable), and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS/telemetry-specific certifications as applicable). The role emphasizes professional behavior, patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing learning in a structured hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college of nursing required OR obtained within 5 years from date of hire for nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current valid Nebraska RN license or compact multistate license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS required within specified timeframes)
- NIHSS/specialty certifications may be required by unit (e.g., NICU, Progressive Care, etc.) and orientation timelines
- Ability to perform nursing duties in Electrophysiology lab
- Strong assessment, care planning, and patient/family education skills
- Ability to work 4-10 hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 0645-1715
- Proficiency with telemetry, IV start skills, and related nursing procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to adhere to state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
