Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse - Casual, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting, assess residents, monitor vital signs, document health changes, administer prescribed medications, oversee and train unregulated staff (PSWs and support team), and coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals. You may assume charge nurse duties in an assigned unit, ensure compliance with legislative standards and company policies, contribute to infection prevention and control, maintain accurate resident records, and participate in ongoing education and quality assurance initiatives to sustain nursing competencies. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration with the care team are essential to support resident plans of care and admission/discharge processes.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- up-to-date certificate of Competency in good standing
- Experience in Long-Term Care is an asset
- strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer focus skills
