Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for Covenant Care in St. Albert, AB (Casual, hourly). Provides holistic nursing care to Hospice residents, leads and mentors HCAs and LPNs, collaborates with interdisciplinary team, conducts assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, supports end-of-life needs, and upholds mission and values of Covenant Care. Requires Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Nursing, active CARNA registration, CPR/First Aid, 1 year Hospice/Palliative care experience, and ability to manage changing resident needs with strong communication and judgment skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized school of Nursing
- Baccalaureate Degree preferred
- Active CARNA Registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR / First Aid Certification / Equivalency
- One year of Hospice / Palliative Care experience
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Assessment, critical thinking skills
- Respect and compassion for all
- Ability to cope with moral distress in end-of-life care
- Vaccination proof
- Criminal record check within 3 months of start date
