Job Summary
Casual agency Registered Nurse across Canberra-area clinical environments (residential aged care, general practice, child and maternal health clinics, family planning, Canberra Health Services, NDIS group homes, community nursing) offering flexible shifts and variety. Requires Bachelor of Nursing and AHPRA RN (Division 1) with a minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience. Responsibilities include medication administration (S4/S8), wound care, diabetes management, bowel and continence care, falls prevention, behaviour management, accurate documentation and care planning, and upskilling as needed. Must hold immunisation records, First Aid & CPR, and police/working with vulnerable people checks; reliable transport to shifts and ability to adapt to new settings; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and willingness to work across multiple clinical settings in Canberra and surrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing
- AHPRA Registration as RN (Division 1)
- Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People Check
- National Police Check (within 12 months)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Effective Communications Module
- NDIS Safe and Enjoyable Meals Module
- Current First Aid (3 years) & CPR (annual)
- Immunisation Record - Influenza (annual)
- Reliable transport to and from shifts
- Medication administration including S4 & S8
- Manual handling and safe practice
- Wound care assessment and planning
- Diabetes management
- Bowel & continence care
- Falls prevention and management
- Behaviour management
- SIRS & Mandatory Reporting
- Accurate documentation and care planning
