Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Care Transition Unit, nights, coordinates nursing care, delivers direct patient care and patient/family education, and oversees transitions of care. Roles include leadership through precepting, informal leadership, and participation in quality improvement; may involve driving personal vehicle as part of responsibilities. Eligible for TN sponsorship; requires state RN licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification. Responsibilities span planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care across practice settings; adheres to Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years for ADN start date after April 1, 2020 (BSN within five years)
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call
- Excellent communication skills; team-oriented; experience with electronic medical records preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as required by location
- State licensure and any specialty certifications as required by work area
