Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care for critically ill patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders, including cardiogenic shock, aortic dissection, and post-open heart surgery. Provide 24/7 care in the newly renovated 29-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU, managing invasive hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical support devices like ECMO and VA. Serve as the primary nurse for assigned patients, ensuring 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratios and facilitating transfer to step-down units within 48 hours. Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to promote optimal health or support a peaceful death, utilizing best scientific evidence and compassion throughout the patient's journey.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state
- One year of CVICU experience or at least two years of ICU experience
- Ability to manage cardiac patients
- Previous experience caring for critical care patients
- Knowledge of EKG rhythms

- Critical care experience
- Previous applicable progressive/telemetry and/or critical care experience
