Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room providing professional, patient- and family-centered perioperative care. Acts as primary nurse for assigned patients on the unit, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and applying nursing processes and clinical standards. Role supports a full-time daytime schedule (Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM) with a 80-hour bi-weekly expectation, includes a 12–16 week OR orientation and specialized training for RNs new to the OR; may require call with a 45-minute response time. Organized within a 11-suite OR with diverse specialties (including heart/CV and robotics), this role emphasizes safety, robotic-assisted surgery support, and collaboration across disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- RN license or equivalent nursing license
- CPR certification (or as required by hospital)
- peripheral IV access and basic life support competencies
- ability to work in a Cardiovascular Operating Room environment
- orientation completion and ongoing professional development
