Job Summary
Provide direct perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical patients, performing preoperative assessments and verifying surgical readiness. Manage patient preparation including IV access, medications, and site verification while participating in surgical briefings, time-outs, and debriefings. Monitor patient status throughout the process, assist with intraoperative coordination, and document all care accurately. Educate patients and families regarding procedures and postoperative expectations while supporting emergency response and critical decision-making in the OR. Join an interdisciplinary team in a 221-bed acute care hospital offering advanced cardiac procedures, open-heart surgery, and interventional cardiology. Full-time day shifts with rotating weekends and on-call requirements apply.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care CVOR RN experience
- Active Florida RN license or compact state RN license
- Associate degree or nursing diploma
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Strong cardiovascular surgical nursing experience
- OR adaptability
- Full-time position
- Day shifts with rotating weekends
- On-call (approximately 10–15 shifts per month)
- 30-minute call-back response requirement
