Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Cath Lab

Job Summary
Circulate, monitor, and assist in sedation medication administration during invasive cardiovascular and interventional procedures in a 3-room cath lab. Prepare patients for procedures, support sterile technique, and guide patients through pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure recovery phases. Monitor patient status, manage hemostasis, and ensure safe transport and handoff to inpatient units while accurately documenting all procedural details and nursing interventions. Communicate effectively using SBAR with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Participate in an on-call rotation requiring on-site availability within 30 minutes, with weekend and holiday call required. This role supports a wide range of procedures including cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, and structural heart cases at a 250+ bed regional hospital recognized for heart attack treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Alaska RN license
- Associate degree in Nursing
- Minimum of three years of Cath Lab experience
- Five years of high-acuity experience (ICU or similar)
- Demonstrated experience with circulating, monitoring, and sedation medication administration, including drips
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to respond on-site within 30 minutes for on-call assignments
- Weekend and holiday call
- Approximately 8–10 call days per 4-week period
