Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the Cardiovascular Care Unit using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct the care team through delegation and coordination, manage patient priorities, and document accurate, timely care while adhering to legal and ethical standards. Provide education, referrals, and follow-up planning to ensure successful care transitions. Requires 3x 12-hour shifts (days or nights), weekend and holiday coverage, and a BSN degree. Located at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- 3x 12 hour shifts
- weekend and holiday requirements
- 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
