Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Cardiology/Cardiac Rehab/Heart Failure roles responsible for delivering patient-centered nursing care in alignment with ANA standards and YNHHS practice guidelines. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health teaching and evaluation), collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team, honoring patient values and diverse backgrounds, and contributing to quality improvement and evidence-based practice. Requires CT RN licensure, BCLS certification, and BSN preferred; advanced professional development encouraged through SPIRE. Inpatient cardiovascular units described (intermediate care, step-down, post-operative cardiac care) with emphasis on post-CABG, valve procedures, device management (pacemaker/ICD), heart failure, and telemetry.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed RN in the State of Connecticut
- BCLS certification (or obtain within 1 month of hire)
- BSN preferred
