Job Summary
Registered Nurse provides direct patient care on a Cardiology/Neuro-focused unit, assesses and plans individualized care, coordinates with the healthcare team, and serves as a preceptor and charge nurse. Responsibilities include neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, care for tracheostomy patients, suctioning per policy, managing patients on ventilators, and supporting post-operative and complex cardiac care in ICU/CTICU settings. Requires adherence to nursing standards, participation in the SPIRE clinical advancement program, and ongoing education for patient and family teaching. The role emphasizes patient-centered, compassionate care within the Cardiac ICU/Cardiothoracic ICU and related units, with potential assignments across related neuro/cardiac care areas.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
