Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiac telemetry patients, including those with heart failure, irregular rhythms, and acute heart attacks. Monitor and record patient conditions, coordinate care plans to optimize outcomes, and communicate status to the interdisciplinary team. Advocate for ethical, holistic care while fostering a learning environment for staff and families. Maintain currency on essential competencies, align practice with safety standards, and engage in ongoing professional development. Utilize electronic health records and exercise independent critical judgment to manage urgent responses and challenging situations. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and one year of experience; ACLS and PALS are unit dependent.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse in the State of Practice
- BSN in Nursing preferred
- BLS certification
- At least one year of experience
- Must maintain BLS certification
- Proficiency in Information Technology, such as electronic health records, communication systems, computers, and equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the position
- Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Ability to use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations
Desired Qualifications
- BSN in Nursing preferred
- Specialty Certification is preferred
- ACLS is unit dependent
- PALS is unit dependent
