Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care for cardiac telemetry and related patient populations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of care. Requires a Tennessee RN license and a nursing diploma/degree; must obtain or maintain certifications such as BLS within 90 days, ACLS within 6 months, NVCI, PALS, TNCC/ENPC where applicable, and unit-specific credentials (CCRN/CCP/AACN as required by assignment). Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, development of individualized plans of care, patient teaching and discharge planning, safe medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The role involves working in adult medical-surgical, critical care, oncology, and pediatric/ER settings with telemetry equipment and hospital systems; flexibility to float between units and work up to a twelve-hour shift in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; NVCI certification within 6 months of hire; AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- For Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- For Adult Emergency Room: at least one year of emergency experience preferred; TNCC preferred; ACLS within 6 months; PALS within 6 months; NVCI certification within 6 months; ENPC or TNCC within 6 months
- For Pediatric Medical Surgical: at least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred; PALS within 6 months; NVCI certification within 6 months
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: at least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred; PALS within 6 months; ACLS within 6 months; NVCI certification within 6 months; ENPC or TNCC within 6 months
