Job Summary

Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for patients with cardiac diagnoses, heart failure, irregular rhythms, and heart attacks in a 25-30 bed acute care unit. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions while coordinating care plans to optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum. Advocate for ethical, holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote patient autonomy and dignity. Facilitate learning environments for patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and ancillary staff. Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in the planning and presentation of educational programs. Manage multiple responsibilities and urgent responses while using independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery. Maintain proficiency in information technology, electronic health records, and necessary equipment. Work full-time days in a collaborative, provider-led team environment with stable, predictable scheduling.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse in the State of Practice
  • at least one year of experience
  • transitioned to their position from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program
  • Must maintain BLS certification
  • Proficiency in Information Technology, such as electronic health records, communication systems, computers, and equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the position
  • Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
  • Ability to use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN in Nursing preferred
  • Specialty Certification is preferred
  • ACLS is unit dependent
  • PALS is unit dependent
