Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner across adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission, identify problems and needs, and develop individualized care plans with specific interventions and outcomes. Administer medications and solutions safely, handle patient transport, and document conditions accurately and timely. Reassess patient responses, modify care plans as needed, and accept charge responsibilities to assign staff based on acuity and complexity. Maintain therapeutic environments, facilitate staff development, and adhere to all hospital policies and competency standards. Requires prolonged standing for up to twelve hours daily and lifting assistance up to 250 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- For Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- For Adult Emergency Room: At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- For Adult Emergency Room: TNCC Preferred
- For Adult Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For Adult Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- For Adult Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Medical Surgical: At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- For Pediatric Medical Surgical: PALS within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Medical Surgical: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric Emergency Room: ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
