Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care for patients across adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments, plan individualized care, and teach patients regarding discharge needs. Administer medications safely, document accurately, and reassess patient conditions to modify care plans. Accept charge responsibilities, assign staff based on acuity, and maintain therapeutic environments. Requires prolonged standing up to twelve hours daily and lifting up to 250 lbs. Maintain position-specific certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NVCI within specified timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs

- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- Adult Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Adult Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Adult Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Medical Surgical: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Medical Surgical: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For float pool and float pool extended: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- For critical care: AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- For Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- For Adult Emergency Room: At least one year of emergency experience preferred
