Registered Nurse Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU)

Conduct competent-level nursing care in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit, applying the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination, teaching, and evaluation. Manage critical care patients with expertise in respiratory and cardiac care, vasoactive medications, hemodynamics, invasive monitoring, neurological care, and post-operative procedures. Collaborate with providers and families while adhering to professional performance standards including ethics, evidence-based practice, and quality evaluation. Requires a Virginia RN license, one year of RN experience, and completion of the 12-week Transition to Practice program featuring live simulations and preceptor-based orientation.
