Registered Nurse- Cardiac Step-Down/Intermediate Care

Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive cardiac care, interpreting telemetry monitoring every four hours and responding to rapid changes in cardiac conditions. Assess physical, psychological, and social needs of patients with complex medical conditions including cardiac rhythm disturbances, cerebral vascular attacks, and peritoneal dialysis. Effectively set goals and priorities for care groups according to acuity while ensuring patient safety during medication administration and transport. Adhere to infection control policies, complete documentation per policy, and actively participate in the Quality Improvement program. Work 36 hours per week on the 1st and 3rd shift (7a-7p or 7p-7a) at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree
  • State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit
  • CPR/BLS certification within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
  • ASLS and NIHSS stroke certification within 1 year of hire
  • Cardiac Telemetry course completion within 6 months of hire
  • Peritoneal Dialysis training within 1 year
