Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiac rehab individuals using the nursing process and evidence-based practice. Monitor heart rhythms and blood pressure during exercise while providing education on risk factors, diet, and stress management. Direct the interdisciplinary team through delegation and coordination, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with legal and ethical standards. Collaborate with physicians, family members, and support staff to develop individualized care plans and prepare patients for follow-up support. Requires a current RN license, BLS certification, and BSN degree, with 9-hour shifts starting at 7:30 or 8:00 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience caring for the cardiac and pulmonary patient
- Recognition of heart rhythms and emergency situations
- Must be available for 9 hour shifts 4 days per week
- Must be available for 7:30 or 8:00AM Start times
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Must be able to push/pull gurneys and portable equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
- Must acknowledge that outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
