Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Cardiac Prep and Recovery prepares patients for cardiac procedures and supports their immediate recovery, delivering patient-centered care on a defined shift. Responsible for coordinating the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process, and for directing and guiding other personnel. Key duties include pre-op preparation (IV placement, education, lab work, consent verification), monitoring recovery for complications and stability, and collaborating with cardiology and anesthesiology to develop individualized care plans while maintaining accurate documentation and hospital protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma and/or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
- BLS
- ACLS
- Any specialty nursing certification, (ie. PCCN, CCRN, etc.) preferred
- At least one year of Progressive Care nursing with cardiac experience
- Shift and weekend differentials may apply
