Job Summary
Conduct primary care for cardiovascular patients requiring intensive care, performing assessments, interventions, patient education, and advocacy. Interpret arrhythmias, manage post-PCI and EP procedure care, and collaborate with the interprofessional health care team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, including BCLS and ACLS certification, while integrating critical thinking skills into person-centered care. Adapt to fast-changing environments and commit to continuing education in cardiology and cardiovascular quality improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Coronary Care Course I & II
- Critical Care Course Certificate
- One year recent ICU experience
- One year recent experience in the care of patients post PCI and EP procedures
- Arrhythmia Interpretation
- Experience with venipuncture
- Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding in person-centred care approach and principles
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment in a positive manner
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing education within the past two (2) years with emphasis placed on courses/conferences related to Cardiology/Cardiovascular
- Demonstrates commitment to organizational initiatives and quality improvement projects
- Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team
