Job Summary
Assess, intervene, educate, and advocate for cardiovascular patients requiring intensive care while supporting the Patient-Centered Care philosophy at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Collaborate closely with the interprofessional health care team to deliver care for patients post-PCI and EP procedures. Interpret arrhythmias, perform venipuncture, and manage critical care responsibilities including coronary care protocols. Demonstrate critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-changing environment while contributing to quality improvement projects. Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and complete required courses in BCLS, ACLS, and critical care.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- Coronary Care Course I & II
- Critical Care Course Certificate
- One year recent ICU experience
- One year recent experience in the care of patients post PCI and EP procedures
- Arrhythmia Interpretation
- Experience with venipuncture
- Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding in person-centred care approach and principles
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment in a positive manner
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing education within the past two (2) years with emphasis placed on courses/conferences related to Cardiology/Cardiovascular
- Demonstrates commitment to organizational initiatives and quality improvement projects
- Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team
