Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and peer collaboration. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, incorporating teaching to educate patients and families. Monitor patient progress, adjust care plans as needed, and maintain accurate records using manual and computerized systems. Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care. Advocate for patient rights, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with community resources. Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to improving care policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Completion of a post graduate critical care course, or one year recent experience in a critical care or equivalent setting
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position
- Organizational skills to manage work effectively
- Proficiency in operating related equipment
- Valid driver's license
