Registered Nurse, Cardiac Care Unit

Part-time Clinical Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) delivers safe, compassionate pediatric cardiac and rhythm-management-focused nursing care, following the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Works with an interdisciplinary team to recognize clinical changes, coordinate care plans across admission and hospitalization, and ensure outcomes-focused plans with clear goals and interventions. Demonstrates effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues, participates in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning, and aligns practice with evidence-based bundles and CHOP standards. Provides patient and family teaching, supports family-centered care, and advocates for safety and high-quality outcomes. Maintains professional responsibilities including documentation, safety practices, and ongoing professional development, while operating within the Nurse Practice Acts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and CHOP’s nursing standards. The role requires pediatric critical care familiarity, ability to recognize ethical considerations, and ongoing collaboration with the care team to optimize patient outcomes in the CCU.
