Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate complex cardiology patients in the 10-bed Critical Care Unit, including those with STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and heart failure. Coordinate patient care activities with inter-professional colleagues, update medical records, and interpret computerized data while adhering to BMC nursing guidelines. Educate patients and families, delegate tasks appropriately, and assist leadership in quality improvement projects. Requires Massachusetts RN licensure, 1+ years of experience, and ACLS certification. Schedule is 36 hours at night with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- 1+ years of RN experience
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language
- Must complete a background check before beginning employment
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
