Job Summary
Assess patients and identify care needs to organize, implement, and evaluate professional nursing care. Facilitate a safe environment by administering medications as ordered, recognizing life-threatening situations, and maintaining accurate patient care records. Function as charge nurse as assigned to lead the team. Establish collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with medical staff and adjust care based on age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs. Maintain required competencies while actively participating in cost containment and accurate charging for patient services. Support patients in cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
- Verbal and written skills
- Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
- Visual acuity for observation of patients
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds
- BLS - American Heart Association
- RN - Board Of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- LTACH and Acute Care experience
- Wound Care experience
- Vent & Trach experience
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills
- Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served
