Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse opportunity at Brown University Health in Newport, RI. The RN provides patient advocacy and applies the nursing process under supervision, prioritizes patient assignments, documents interventions, and collaborates with the health team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include recognizing deviations from norms, reporting responses to treatment, providing basic comfort and support, engaging patients and families in care, planning for emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions, modifying care plans as needed, and maintaining knowledge of current nursing practices and infection control. The role requires integration of physical and nursing assessments, adherence to hospital policies, participation in quality improvement, potential shift-charge responsibilities, and supervision of LPNs/CNAs as needed. Minimum qualifications include RI RN licensure (or NLC), an accredited nursing program with an associate degree (baccalaureate preferred), current BLS, and understanding of the Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act. The position is night shift (12-hour) at Newport Hospital with a pay range of $35.70-$71.40 per hour.
