Job Summary
Registered Nurse provides care delivery for patients throughout the length of stay, coordinating care with other professionals, delegating appropriate tasks, and documenting patient responses using the nursing process (assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, evaluation). The role includes ensuring patient safety, readiness for discharge, adherence to standards of professional nursing practice, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position is part-time, holds a core requirement for an ADN with BSN anticipated within 8 years for certain locations, and requires Michigan RN licensure and BLS; CC/ALS and unit-specific certifications may be required. The role emphasizes nursing standards, professional development, patient advocacy, and participation in quality improvement activities in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing required
- Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan
- BSN within 8 years of hire date (per location-specific policy)
- BLS certification required by core orientation
- Critical care or ALS as well as other certifications may be required for some RNs
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) or related certifications may be required for specific units
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (through PQF or NCC) within 6 months for certain units
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from systems and equipment; strong communication skills
- Medication administration and adherence to policies and procedures
- Ability to participate in quality improvement activities
- Swing bed training/CBL requirements for certain facilities
- Shift/part-time scheduling as noted in job posting
