Job Summary
Coordinate nursing care for patients in the BMT/Cellular Therapy PCU, including direct patient care, education, transitions of care, and implementation of the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. Lead through preceptor roles, quality improvement efforts, and delegation based on skill level and acuity. Participate in committees, mentor staff, and drive personal vehicle as required. This role offers TN sponsorship and includes nights shift coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Excellent communication skills
- Skillful in mentoring and teaching
- Ability to function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model
- Knowledge of ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
- Ability to provide leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
- Ability to delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources
- Ability to coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care
- Ability to support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care
- Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients
- Ability to drive personal vehicle
