Registered Nurse- Birthing Center-Night Shift

Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care in the birthing center during night shift. Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs; establish a compassionate environment; collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care; deliver health teaching and counseling to promote health; use clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately; document accurately and timely in the patient medical record; contribute to policy development to support patient safety and quality of care; supervise/licensed/practitioner support staff as needed; advocate for patients and coordinate with other health service professionals; ensure licensure and required education are completed in a timely manner. Compensation ranges from $31.25 to $49.06 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- BLS
- Experience with patient assessment and education
- Ability to document accurately and timely in patient medical records
- Clinical judgment and critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition
- Supervision/delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed personnel
- Advocacy for patient and collaboration with health care team
