Job Summary
Registered Nurse for Ballington House and Creekside Stabilization programs within VOA Utah's interdisciplinary clinical teams. Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating client medical care, primary care referrals and follow-up, transport to appointments, supporting medication adherence, administering medications, coordinating lab work, ensuring vaccinations and labs are up to date, documentation, and participating in treatment planning. Shared duties across sites emphasize collaboration with psychiatrists/APRN, staff education on health and medication topics, adherence to confidentiality and licensing requirements, ongoing licensure maintenance, and regular schedule attendance. Requires 12-hour shifts in a residential treatment setting, strong crisis-intervention skills, experience with electronic health records, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preference for inpatient psychiatric experience and experience with serious mental illness and substance use disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Utah
- 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass Utah DHHS – Office of Licensing background screening and FBI RapbackBackground screening
- pass pre-employment drug screen
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with electronic health records
