Job Summary
Registered Nurse role providing health screenings, coordinating health-related referrals, and collaborating with prescribers and interdisciplinary staff to support client care. Responsibilities include dispensing medications as prescribed, administering injectable medications, conducting PROS Health Assessments, contributing to treatment plans, reviewing health screenings, educating recipients/staff on medical issues, maintaining medication security, printing prescriber schedules/reports, fulfilling prior authorization requests, providing crisis intervention as needed (including offsite in the community), forwarding reports and lab results to PCPs, handling triage calls, utilizing electronic health records for patient documentation, and assisting with orientation of new nursing staff. Requires NYS RN licensure, CPR certification, strong communication, time management, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; travel in local/regional settings may be required.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Department of Education Registered Professional Nurse
- CPR-certified
- Experience providing direct clinical service to the population served by the assigned clinical program is strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively as well as to organize tasks
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programs
- Broad clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and psychiatric diagnosis
- Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel
