Job Summary
Assess, treat, and document comprehensive patient care for behavioral health units, including admissions, discharges, and group management for depressive disorders and self-harm reduction. Initiate patient and family teaching, consult with nursing leadership on significant clinical changes, and communicate shift-to-shift reports. Respond to hospital codes such as Team 20, Dr. Strong, and Code Blue within assigned units while maintaining infection control standards and adhering to departmental policies. Complete admission and discharge documentation in electronic medical records, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and attend mandatory in-service programs and monthly unit meetings. Full-time night shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) with E/O weekend rotation. Salary $46.94–$66.43/hour plus differentials. BSN required with current NJ RN licensure and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current NJ licensure as RN
- BLS Certification
- BSN
- proof of enrollment in an accredited BSN program with completion expected within three (3) years of start date
- Clinical nursing skills for an experience behavioral health RN
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
- Ability to work semi-independently under the supervision of NM/ADNs
- Frequently prolonged standing/walking
- Protective clothing worn: face shield, gloves, impermeable gown when required for infection control protocol
