Job Summary
Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director, plan, provide, and evaluate total nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles. Facilitate individualized, goal-directed care, relate effectively with other shifts for continuity, and participate in all phases of education while maintaining satisfactory relations with other departments. Perform nursing patient care duties for the assigned unit in a stressful environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision. Maintain valid licensure in Georgia, hold Basic Life Support certification, and obtain Handle with Care or CPI within 90 days. Requires an associate's degree in nursing with 1.5 years of psychiatric/behavioral health bedside experience.
Required Qualifications
- associate's degree in nursing
- Valid licensure in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse (RN) or multi state/compact RN license
- 1.5 years of psychiatric/behavioral health, bedside experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- critical thinking skills
- decisive judgment
- the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Desired Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in nursing
- Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire
- ACLS
- Experience in a behavioral health facility
