Perform comprehensive mental and physical health assessments to evaluate emotional stability, behavioral risks, cognitive function, and overall well-being. Administer prescribed psychiatric medications including antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers while monitoring therapeutic effectiveness and side effects. De-escalate psychiatric crises using therapeutic communication and crisis intervention strategies while implementing safety measures when clinically appropriate. Build trusting relationships with patients through consistent, empathetic communication that validates their experiences and supports recovery. Maintain a safe therapeutic environment by conducting routine safety checks, supervising at-risk patients closely, and enforcing unit safety protocols. Work nights in a 12-hour shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am at Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS.
