Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) will oversee OBRA and Medicare MDS assessments and the PPS workflow, coordinating interdisciplinary care to ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include integrating nursing, dietitian, therapeutic recreation, restorative, rehabilitation, and physician services to capture all clinical conditions; verifying payer sources; ensuring timely electronic submission and corrections of MDS assessments; managing the MDS schedule and care conferences; supporting CAAs and the care planning process; ensuring Medicare documentation follows federal/state guidelines including physician certification/recertification and non-coverage letters; analyzing outcomes to identify training and monitoring needs; and collaborating with RAI specialists to optimize resident care. Education and licensure requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current PA RN or LPN license, with at least one year of clinical experience; RAC-CT certification and AANAC membership are strongly recommended. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in PA
- One year of clinical experience
- Experience with MDS completion, reimbursement, clinical resource utilization is highly desirable
- AANAC membership and RAC-CT certification is strongly recommended
