Job Summary
Licensed RN II providing direct patient care and leadership in a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities include nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintaining medical records. Collaborates with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate compassionate, quality care and desired outcomes. Demonstrates clinical competence in using technology, administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies. Engages in unit/shared governance initiatives, serves as charge nurse or preceptor to students/new employees, and may contribute to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management. Requires Texas RN licensure and BLS/ACLS (or instructor) with potential Magnet certification; strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and ability to work independently within the Nurse Practice Act. Willingness to travel as needed within the Houston Methodist system; on-call may be required.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure - Texas Board of Nursing_PSV Compact Licensure – Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
