Job Summary
Perform autonomous therapeutic apheresis procedures including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, leukapheresis, stem cell harvests, and photopheresis across critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers. Execute venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and bard ports while assessing patient status and medication compatibility. Coordinate treatments with physicians and nurses at various hospitals, serve as a clinical consultant on apheresis matters, and maintain supplies and equipment readiness. Work variable 1st shift Monday through Friday with rotating on-call duties. No prior apheresis experience is required; comprehensive training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)
