Job Summary
Registered Nurse III in the Ambulatory Surgical Unit at Winchester Medical Center provides professional nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include patient education, quality and safety initiatives, coordination with the health team, leadership roles, and ensuring compliance with certifications and licensure requirements. Requires BSN, RN license, and BLS; AHA-compliant certifications preferred and ongoing professional development; experience in ambulatory surgical care and ability to participate in department initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Nursing (BSN) required
- RN License required
- BLS Certification - AHA Healthcare Provider required
- New hires must have appropriate certification prior to orientation
- Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations - licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia (Nurse Licensure Compact) or single-state license
- Experience: RN II level with ability to meet cognitive/physical/emotional growth/development care standards
- Leadership/committee participation expectations
- Portfolio submission by March 1st for Professional Practice Ladder requirements
- Ability to provide case-based nursing care using the nursing process
