Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery

Job Summary
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Community Memorial's mission while performing nursing interventions safely and accurately. Administer medications and IV solutions, coordinate patient schedules, and arrange necessary supplies. Initiate and maintain IV and Venous Access Ports, assist with lab draws, and operate IV pumps. Apply and maintain Wound Vac Pumps, perform dressing changes, and assist with minor procedures in the procedure room. Prioritize workloads with team members and OR Nurse Manager, ensuring effective communication and independent operation with limited supervision. Perform accurate documentation and enforce infection control policies. Requires a valid NYS Nursing License, one year of Ambulatory Surgery experience, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

- Support and enforcement of infection control policies and procedures
- Initiation and maintenance of IV and Venous Access Ports (VAP) according to Hospital policies
- Assistance with lab draws as needed
- Ability to operate IV pumps
- Application and maintenance of Wound Vac Pumps and dressing changes
- Assistance with minor procedures in the procedure room with providers
- Assistance in Surgery with Admission and Discharge when needed
- Ability to operate all equipment and perform all procedures in nursing department
- Demonstration of knowledge, abilities and skills required to perform a wide variety of nursing functions
- Mathematical ability necessary to compute drug dosages accurately
- Completion of unit specific competencies as scheduled
- Annual completion of competencies
- Valid NYS Nursing License
- Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing
