Job Summary
Ambulatory Nurse responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the RN scope of practice. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities; ensures complete and accurate documentation; provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups. Acts as preceptor and supports development of other staff and healthcare students, providing leadership for quality improvement initiatives and assisting Nursing Supervisor/coordinator with departmental standing orders. Performs procedures such as amniocentesis, IUD insertion/removal, and cerclage removal; wound assessment/care; administration of facility-ordered medications; telephone triage of obstetrical, postpartum, and pre-pregnancy patients; communicates lab results, obtains glucose readings, prior authorizations, and refills per provider orders; educates patients on prenatal screening tests/results and diabetes management in pregnancy; reviews patient charts to ensure information is obtained prior to MFM visits.
