Job Summary
Registered Nurse on a heart-failure/ICU-focused unit provides assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; supervises non-RN staff; serves as charge nurse and preceptor; develops and documents care plans with patient and family involvement; delivers education and coordinates care across the continuum, with responsibilities including airway management, care of tracheostomy patients, ventilated patients, and post-operative cardiac patients, while adhering to unit policies and standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed RN in the State of Connecticut
- Nursing practice within Nurse Practice Act
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
